FIRAS is an accreditation scheme for the
installers/applicators of passive fire protection
products.
The scheme was developed to enable installers/applicators
to gain the necessary level of skill through training. The
quality of workmanship is monitored on an ongoing basis
through site inspection of work in progress and audit
checks of quality management systems.
This combination of site inspections, quality management
system audits and training means it is possible to ensure
that FIRAS Accredited Installers are competent to
undertake the installation work for which they are
accredited.
EXCEL GLASS is an accredited installer of Fire Resistant
Glazing and we have demonstrated compliance with the FIRAS
Regulations and Procedures by having our supervisors
successfully complete a training course operated by
Warrington Fire Research.
We are required to maintain adequate records detailing the
purchase and use of all materials that form part of the
fire resisting installations, together with the employment
of staff who understand the significance of their
responsibilities to the provision of fire safety in
buildings.
We can therefore provide both knowledgeable advice and a
quality service in the extremely important area of fire
resistant glazing.
